Musings of a meandering monk
God – aka Creator/Source, Universal Mind, and a host of other designations – is generally described as omnipotent (all-powerful), omniscient (all-knowing), and omnipresent (in everything everywhere and every-when) which would imply a static condition, a fullness or wholeness – a box if you will, from which no further growth is possible.
But the very word ‘creator’ means ‘grower’. And if you believe as I do, that the physical universe is the outpicturing of divine consciousness, then evolution would provide evidence of this growth, manifesting first as a planet, then foliage, then animals and finally man, each new development an outgrowth of expanded consciousness, greater self-awareness.
What this implies of course is that God/nature is still evolving, that more advanced forms of life are still to be seen – mankind is not the end result of evolution, but only a step along the way. And just as plants evolved into animals and animals into man, so is man evolving into the next species.
Yes, is. The Shift that so many speak of is occurring now – has in fact been occurring for some time, but is growing in intensity, imparting a sense of urgency. It is a shift of consciousness, an awareness that something greater this way comes. And an awareness that that something greater comes from within, from the soul, where the divine and the mundane meet.
Conscious participation in this evolution is not necessary; it’s going to happen, regardless. Fearing and opposing the change only slows the process and makes it more painful – like trying to hold back the birth of a child. However, the more people become aware, enter into the process and open themselves to the Shift the sooner the change will happen and the easier it will be for all.
